Computer Labs

Computer Labs

There are three open computer labs to serve students, faculty, staff, and community residents. Open labs are available at all Lake-Sumter campus libraries, see campus for schedule.

Open labs provide:

  • Support personnel for assistance with basic hardware and software questions
  • Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office 2010
  • Course-related software
  • High-speed Internet access
  • Black and white Laser Printing at 10 cents per page, color printing at Leesburg only at 20 cents per page
  • USB ports and CD and DVD drives
  • Scanners at the Sumter and South Lake locations 
  • iMacs available at Leesburg campus
  • Laptop computers available at Leesburg and South Lake for in-house checkout
 

Acceptable Use of Techology

According to the Information Systems Resources policy, resources are expected to be used in a responsible, efficient, ethical, and legal manner in accordance with the mission of LSSC. Access to offensive or inappropriate materials is not permitted.

 

Leesburg

The Leesburg Campus Open Computer lab is located in the library and may be used any time the library is open. The lab provides 36 desktop computers using Windows 7 with Microsoft Office. Two iMacs and one PowerMac are also available. The library's classroom provides an additional 23 computers that are accessible when classes are not in session and overflow space is needed. Library staff are available to assist with computer-related questions. There are also computers available in the Center for Teaching and Learning, along with math and English tutors. In addition, a scanner and an Optelec machine for reading assistance are located in the Learning Center.

 

South Lake

Public access computers are available on both floors of the Cooper Memorial library. UCF's open computer lab, Building 2, Room 209 is open to LSSC students. Additionally, there are computers available in the Learning Center in Building 1, along with math and English tutors.

 

Sumter

All of the PCs in the Sumter Campus Library provide open lab capability. Library staff are available to assist students with computer-related questions.
