About Independence Day

Independence Day, or the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday that celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of the Independence on July 4th, 1776. Today, Americans celebrate our nation’s independence with parades, fireworks, patriotic songs, and readings of the Declaration of Independence.
